From Olongapo to Eminem: The Epic Journey of EZ Mil

In the vast realm of music collaborations, there was a particular photo that caused a seismic wave of excitement among fans worldwide. It featured the iconic rapper Eminem alongside the talented EZ Mil and the legendary Dr. Dre. But what made this seemingly simple photo so significant? The answer lies in the untold story behind it.

Eminem, known for his meticulous approach to his craft, rarely signs new artists to his label, making this collaboration all the more remarkable. However, EZ Mil, or Ezekiel Miller, managed to capture Eminem's attention with his powerful vocals and exceptional songwriting skills. The U.S. audience, particularly on YouTube, couldn't help but notice the Filipino artist, especially after he went viral with his performance of "Panalo" on the Wish Bus USA. Notably, this track's popularity even landed it a spot on the NBA 2K23 soundtrack.

Born in Olongapo and raised with music in his blood, thanks to his musician father, EZ Mil's journey took him to study architecture at Saint Louis University in Baguio before pursuing his music career in the United States. The dedication and hard work he put into his craft won the hearts of Eminem's fans worldwide.

When Eminem finally heard EZ Mil's songs, a meeting was arranged in Las Vegas, where EZ Mil had the opportunity to meet both Dre and Eminem for the first time. The meeting left a lasting impression, leading to the recording of "Realest," a rap masterpiece showcasing an intricate display of multisyllabic rhyme schemes and wordplay.

EZ Mil's dream came true when he was signed to Eminem's label, Shady/Aftermath, in collaboration with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment Interscope. Interestingly, this was the same record company that once signed the iconic 50 Cent. Dr. Dre revealed that they seek artists who offer distinctive sound, and EZ Mil's unique talent seamlessly fits the bill.

This groundbreaking moment isn't just a triumph for EZ Mil but also for Filipino rappers as a whole. Another Pinoy rapper, Mike Swift, is making strides with a project alongside Ice Cube, further boosting the momentum of Pinoy Hip-hop.

In the end, the photo that sparked excitement around the world was more than just a glimpse of three music legends together; it was a symbol of dreams materializing, cultures converging, and boundaries breaking. The collaboration between Eminem, EZ Mil, and Dr. Dre showcased the power of music to unite people from different corners of the globe, proving that talent knows no boundaries, and that true passion and hard work can lead to extraordinary achievements. As the world eagerly awaits their collaborative album, we can be certain that it will be a testament to the magic that happens when artists from diverse backgrounds come together to create something truly extraordinary.

When my father came back in Philippines from working abroad, he brought set of encyclopedias for me to read.  It was then the first time that I read about paintings of the old masters (e.g. Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh and others) which gave me my

MAY 22 TIU theater is an artist hub located in Makati, and I was given the chance to watch Bakata: The Battle of Street Poets, a play produced by  Toshihiko Uriu  -   The play was a huge success and is predicted to turn into a Philippine classic, but I am writing this article right now to highlight another story that occurred inside the TIU theater.  A collaboration piece that helped produce the effect of the wonder called Bakata. I noticed the glow of the lanterns and the paper cranes highlighted in the stage design, it had the flair and flamboyant but subtle effect that was needed in order to make the stage look just perfect for the story line.  Leo R Natividad is the President and Owner of Origami Pilipinas.  I was fortunate to meet members like  L.
