Affirmations

I am a Baguio girl, small town, people still know each other-- if you have an ex-boyfriend you are sure to meet him in Session Road--
I thought I would always be a Baguio girl, for who wouldn't love the late night coffee at a local pub somewhere. They say, when you are heartbroken Baguio is the best place for you.

However, you reach the age of 28, and you realize there is something big that is missing in your life-- despite the many efforts in a small town-- you still end up empty.
Bhava Mitra once told me, Mangangarap ka na lang din-- taasan mo na, parang kung gusto mo maging artista-- wag ng ABS-CBN talent lang--aim for a Hollywood level status-- those words struck a chord in me.
Oo nga ano... did I dream so low? Will I not give myself a chance to understand more.
Sabi nila, sa Manila, masama ugali ng mga cab drivers-- I have been in here for several weeks now-- and always had pleasant conversations with Cab drivers.
I found na highly informative ang cab drivers--you can speak to them in details about the current Election campaign--
Perhaps, it is up to you-- how you will view a certain town..If Baguio is heaven, it will be, if Manila is heaven it will be.
Everything that you believe in you will attract.
I am loving the warm weather by the way--ironic, but I love it. It allows my skin to breathe.

Experiencing the Law of Abundance:

Met a lot of really financially successful people this week-- when I say financially successful, they are able to purchase anything they want---anything.

I have been asking them questions regarding their way of thinking- one of them has stated that he is no longer working and he is relaxed- he was very mellow- and he just felt abundant all of the time.

Successful people have a relaxed feeling about them, they are very considerate of other people--

The higher the success, the better the ideas that come out of their mouth- in fact, when you reach a certain pattern of success--you have time to be kind- you have time to care.

I have come to see that these people have a strong mental mindset-- they don't speak of negative things--they are very direct and they are strategic.
I like how well composed they are-- I like to learn from the best people in various industries...
This is starting to feel like the right path to take.

Reflections in the Urban Landscape

You could be a total nobody walking in the streets of Makati, wondering around with friends who have no idea where to go or where to belong to-- full of dreams and visions of how the world is interpreted through another person's eyes--You danced with them, you once believed you are a part of something bigger than yourself-- you danced with the young and eternal souls believing you had a cause...

And now you are walking after several months with people who hold the world in their eyes--they own the spaces of time, you ask yourself have you transformed into a totally different person, are you now with a better perspective... you feel perhaps maybe this is it..that maybe this next step is the real you--

We all live in an illusory world don't you see..everything is an illusion...Is there an authentic self--- everything is just created by your mind...The world is a matrix.

I once danced with you my friend... I once danced with you

Maybe there is no real advocacy, no real questions to be asked, nothing worthy to fight for, nothing worth destroying or toppling down.
Maybe we are just a glitch in the system, a disk fragmented in order to have meaning and no meaning at the same time.
Maybe, we should just dance, with pain or in ecstasy, maybe there is nothing to worry about- for we are all just passing by.
Maybe you are just a glitch in the universe. You and I..

Merong Forever

by: Kali Alaia

Merong " love", let's not get too cynical. Yung hugot lines ni Marcelo na " walang forever", patok na patok but it has limited our point of view kung ano yung love.
Wala kasi sa mga tele drama yung mga totoong sacrifices and stories of love. Nalimitahan lahat sa mga "do's" and " don't"s, naging masyadong maliit yung unawa natin sa love.
Pero best described ang love ng Bible, as stated by 1 Corinthians 13:4-8New International Version (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

In an age where most are cynical about love and the possiblity of it. I want to believe in Love. Meron yan. We have to broaden our perspective

The idea behind this piece is a man meditating on a mountain top while watching an eclipse happen before his eyes.  In some cultures, an eclipse is seen as the “love making” between the sun and the moon, unifying the two opposites together.  During this manifestation there is a total cosmic understanding and feeling of universal unity and balance.--Nate Gonz

Know your local artist: Khervin John Gallandez : The Ilocano Artist

Khervin John Gallandez is an emerging visual artist from Ilocos. It has been a personal advocacy to share the amazing people I have met while on the road Khervin John Gallandez, is one of the many hopefuls in the local art industry— and he is definitely worth our time. He has focus and determination and young artists can learn a lot from his willingness to evolve when it comes to his craft. Q&A : At what age did you first realize that you wanted to become an artist? I started to draw at the age of 7, as far as I remember.  I draw simple houses with my cousins. My mother was a disciplinarian before, and she provides used papers for me to draw/scribble instead of me going out and playing around. When my father came back in Philippines from working abroad, he brought set of encyclopedias for me to read.  It was then the first time that I read about paintings of the old masters (e.g. Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh and others) which gave me my

Why you need to visit the Bamboo Intramuros

There are very few places in Metro Manila that would make you feel relaxed and one with nature . I was fortunate enough to meet one of the legendary owners of  Bamboo Grande franchise.  Honesto Deuda aka Ka-Oni  is well loved by friends, acquaintances and people who have met him from different walks of life.  He co-owns some of the best bar and restaurants in Metro Manila. Ka Oni is known for creating inspiring and bars that have soul, spunk and spirit.  He has been conceptualizing organic looking resto bars for more than 10 years now. Ka- Oni's creations are noticeable because the resto bars that he creates are made out of love for music and the arts. His process is different, Ka Oni  creates the vision for the restaurants but does not need to put them on paper, they are directly executed from his imagination to reality.   Ka Oni was already featured in Mabuhay International Magazine for the amazing work that he has done with his surrounding commun

Origami Pilipinas: Changing the Country one paper fold at a time

MAY 22 TIU theater is an artist hub located in Makati, and I was given the chance to watch Bakata: The Battle of Street Poets, a play produced by  Toshihiko Uriu  -   The play was a huge success and is predicted to turn into a Philippine classic, but I am writing this article right now to highlight another story that occurred inside the TIU theater.  A collaboration piece that helped produce the effect of the wonder called Bakata. I noticed the glow of the lanterns and the paper cranes highlighted in the stage design, it had the flair and flamboyant but subtle effect that was needed in order to make the stage look just perfect for the story line.  Leo R Natividad is the President and Owner of Origami Pilipinas.  I was fortunate to meet members like  L. River Butay, Adonis dela Cruz as well as Jose Monzales and other volunteers who continue to strengthen Origami Pilipinas. Origami Pilipinas and their Advocacy: Origami Pilipinas, was founded out of pa
